When It Rains, It Pours
Deep understanding is the most important part of designing solutions for farmers. We set out to learn about sesame, a largely neglected but crucial crop, based on our human-centered design approach that involves ethnographic research, expert interviews and analysis.
As a result, When It Rains, It Pours provides a panoramic view of the sesame ecosystem in Myanmar, identifying the players at each stage of the value chain, and providing tangible opportunities to address the challenges they face.
The rural landscape in Myanmar is changing rapidly, and this approach has kept Proximity agile and responsive to farmers needs over the past 15 years. Join us in finding impactful strategies to improve the livelihoods of half a million sesame farmers.
